This week the theme for the Gallery is Friends. For the last 29 years of my life I've had lots of people I count as friends, but only a few do I count as having been best, true, lasting friendships.
Of course my husband is my best friend, he has been for almost 10 years of my life, and he always will be.
I have another friend, a special friend that I've known for 25 years, her entire life, most of mine, we've grown up together, we've been together through all the special times of our life, and as best friends we'll grow old together too.
I don't have any pictures of us as children, I'm sure they exist but I've never owned any. I do however have quite a few of us as grown ups, so here is a small snippet of our lives together as friends.
She was one of my bridesmaids, I'm honoured that she shared my special day with me.

She had babies, then I had babies. Its been amazing to share the experience of motherhood with my childhood friend.
Although my beautiful best friend doesn't live nearby we try to see each as often as we can, it means our friendship stays strong, and our children are building strong friendships too!

Lovely! Mine is a similar theme this week. I haven't seen my best friend in ages, but she is still the best :)
ReplyDeleteits lovely when your childhood friendships last into your adult lives and your children can then get to know them and their children starting the next generation of friends - lovely post x
